For our oldest campers, think about what it would be like to spend part of your summer building an affordable home for a deserving family. At Camp Hazen YMCA we offer Service-based Leadership Trips to teens entering their junior or senior year in high school. Not only will you have a great time, but you'll also make a difference to communities who need our support. Many of our Teen Leaders have used their experiences on our service based trips to enhance their college applications or even to help fulfill high school community service requirements. Take some time to check out this fantastic program. Talk to your parents? Talk to your camp friends from the summer, or talk to your school friends and challenge them to join you for a truly rewarding and unforgettable summer!

Project PennsylvaniaHabitat for Humanity Service TripSession B, July 12-24
On this trip you'll travel to Pennsylvania to work on a Habitat for Humanity site. Through volunteer labor, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit. A few days spent seeing the sites of Eastern Pennsylvania combined with a day trip to Hershey Park, the sweetest place on Earth, will round out this experience. This trip is sure to offer you the time of your life while helping those in need of your talent and support. The trip will end with a return to Camp in time for closing campfire and candlelight ceremony. Imagine what it would be like to spend part of your summer building an affordable home for a deserving family Whatever your experiences, think about getting out there and trying something new, traveling to new places, meeting new friends, and having the best summer of your life! Habitat for Humanity construct more than one house at a time, all at different stages of completion. As a volunteer group we will be offering our services to help wherever we are needed. Typically we have been framing, dry walling, landscaping and painting homes in the past. You don't need to have previous experience doing these kinds of things, just an open mind and a willingness to learn. We get to work at the pace that is most comfortable for our group to make sure we do the job properly. At times the work can be quite physical and most people are surprised at how they are able to handle physical labor. Take a chance and get out there?you can make a difference!

A trip that will tear at the heartstrings but will definitely be one of THE most rewarding experiences. Take the leap to make a difference. In your free time, explore the lovely city of DC with your Hazen team and take in all the sights and sounds of our nation's Capitol
