Camp Hazen YMCA’s program is built around helping young people grow into confident, capable, and caring individuals. Everything we do is grounded in the YMCA’s core values—caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility—and designed to help campers develop independence, build friendships, and discover what they’re capable of.
Our emphasis is on experiential learning through play, challenge, and community. Campers spend their days immersed in classic camp activities—waterfront adventures, outdoor exploration, creative arts, sports, and team challenges—that encourage them to try new things, step outside their comfort zones, and celebrate personal growth. We focus on skill-building, but even more on the social and emotional learning that happens when kids live together, solve problems, and support one another.
Hazen’s program also prioritizes belonging and inclusion. Cabins are intentionally structured to foster community, and staff are trained to help campers navigate friendships, practice positive communication, and contribute to a supportive group culture.
Above all, our program emphasizes connection—to the world, to others, and to oneself. Whether a camper is discovering a new talent, learning to work as part of a team, or simply laughing with friends around a campfire, the Hazen experience is designed to help them grow in ways that last long after summer ends.
