Overnight Camp Counselors

Spend your summer living and working with a cabin group, building relationships with campers, and helping create the community that makes Hazen special. Counselors also lead activities in one of our program areas: Creative Arts, Land Sports, Water Sports, Outdoor Pursuits, or Ropes. It’s a summer of teaching, mentoring, having fun, and making a real impact on kids.

Eligible: Applicants who will have completed at least their first year of college by summer 2027.

Day Camp Counselors

Help create an incredible summer for our Day Campers! Day Camp Counselors lead activities, support their camper groups throughout the day, and help kids build friendships, try new things, and feel part of the Hazen community. â€‹Day Camp staff have the option to live on site as part of the summer staff community or commute to camp each day.

Eligible: Applicants who will have completed at least their first year of college by summer 2027.

Assistant Counselors

Take the next step as a Hazen leader! ACs work alongside our counselors, helping with cabin life, activities, and the everyday moments that make camp memorable. The AC position is designed as an opportunity to continue developing leadership skills while taking on greater responsibility at camp.


Eligible: Rising High School Seniors. These positions are primarily filled by campers who completed Hazen’s LEA program the previous summer..

Summer Leadership

Take on a larger role in shaping the summer experience for both campers and staff. Our summer leadership team includes Program Directors and Village Directors, who oversee program areas or camper villages, mentor and support staff, and help keep camp running smoothly from morning through evening.


Eligible: These positions are primarily filled by returning Hazen staff who have previously worked as counselors.

Seasonal Maintenance

Be part of the team that keeps Hazen running all summer long. Seasonal Maintenance Staff help care for our buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities while responding to the everyday needs of a busy summer camp.

​

Maintenance staff live on site and are part of the larger Hazen summer staff community.

​

Seasonal Kitchen

Help keep hundreds of campers and staff fueled for everything a Hazen day brings! Seasonal Kitchen Staff assist with meal preparation, service, cleaning, and the day-to-day operation of our Dining Hall and kitchen.

​

Kitchen staff live on site and are part of the larger Hazen summer staff community.
