Youth & Family Weekends

Staying connected to camp year‑round keeps the spirit of Hazen alive long after summer ends, giving kids a place where they can return to recharge, reconnect, and keep growing. Our off‑season and family camp programs offer a chance to share the magic of camp with the whole family or give new campers a low‑pressure way to try camp before their first summer. It’s a meaningful way to stay part of a community that feels like home, no matter the season.

Family Camps

Spending time together as a family has immediate rewards but the long-term gains are even more significant.  Not only will you build a solid foundation for memories that will last a lifetime, but you’ll also be helping to build and develop a set of skills and patterns that your children will carry with them into adolescence and adulthood.

What you can expect at a Hazen Family Program

A Variety of Activities

There are plenty of opportunities for low and high energy activities for adults and children, beginner or advanced.  The excitement doesn’t stop when the sun goes down as every night is filled with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy together. Highlights of our weekend programming include: canoeing and kayaking, the archery range, our Climbing Wall and/or the Alpine tower, Giant Swing, candle making, woodburning, and more! In addition our sports courts and hiking trails are available for families to make their own adventures.

Lodging

Each family will have their own cabin for the weekend, with several cabin styles available on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Options include our winterized lodges with multiple private wings and our Alpine Cabins, which sleep up to six and include a small heater for cooler weather. Our traditional summer camp cabin sleeps 10 and each have a half bath. Cabins in our Spruce Village are located by a centralized Shower house. Housing is assigned in the order registrations are received.

Home Cooked Meals

Staff

Camp Hazen YMCA’s Food Service Staff pride themselves on serving food of high quality and variety.  Meals are designed to please all members of the family and we are happy to cater to special dietary needs.  In the spirit of fun, our menus will reflect the Family Program’s theme.

Our experienced staff are selected from the “cream of the crop” of our summer camp.  They are chosen for their ability to relate to a variety of age groups, their enthusiasm and their spirit.  Staff members and campers work directly with our YMCA Professional Staff to ensure a quality program and a mission driven experience.

Youth Weekend Programs

Youth Weekend Programs offer the perfect bite‑sized taste of overnight camp—whether a camper is trying it out for the first time, bringing a friend along to share the magic, or reconnecting with familiar faces and favorite traditions. Campers stay in cozy winterized lodges and spend their days diving into classic camp activities led by our enthusiastic, well‑trained staff. It’s a weekend packed with adventure, laughter, and the kind of small‑but‑mighty moments that make camp feel like home.

What you can expect at a Spring/Fall Camp Program

Program

Spring and Fall Camp weekends are packed with opportunities for campers to dive into both high‑energy adventures and more relaxed, creative activities—perfect for beginners and returning campers alike. In addition to special seasonal programs, many of the favorite activities from summer camp return for the weekend, giving campers a chance to enjoy the classics they love alongside new seasonal experiences.

Lodging

Spring and Fall campers stay in our heated cabins that are during the summer known as the Health Lodge and LEA Lodge. Each set up with classic bunk‑bed style sleeping arrangements that keep the experience fun and comfortable. Cabins offer a cozy place to unwind after a full day of activities, but campers should plan to bring their own bedding for the weekend.

Staff

Spring and Fall Camp are led by our year‑round program directors, who are actively involved in running activities and supporting campers throughout the weekend. They’re joined by a small team of returning local summer staff who bring their energy, experience, and familiar faces back to camp, creating a warm, well‑supported environment for every child.
