Walk through the woods at Camp Hazen and the story of growth is everywhere.

A tree grows one season at a time. Each new ring is shaped by the years that came before it—by strong seasons, difficult ones, periods of change, and periods of steady growth. No single ring tells the whole story. Together, they show how something lasting is built.

Camp Hazen has grown much the same way.

For more than a century, Hazen has evolved alongside the young people and communities it serves. Programs have changed. Buildings have changed. Expectations around safety, accessibility, privacy and belonging have changed. New generations of campers have arrived with new needs, while many of the things that matter most about camp have remained remarkably constant.

Kids still come here to make friends. To try things they aren't sure they can do. To spend time outside. To live and work alongside other people. To gain a little independence. To discover the confidence that comes from realizing, I can do this.

The Next Ring is Camp Hazen's commitment to making sure the place where those experiences happen continues to grow with them.

It is not one building, one renovation or one fundraising goal. It is an ongoing investment in a camp that is safer, more welcoming, more sustainable and better equipped to serve young people for generations to come.

Some of that work is already visible across the property. Other improvements are still being planned. And, just as importantly, there will always be another need to anticipate and another opportunity to make camp better.

That is what makes this The Next Ring, rather than the final one.
